Lottery dollars help brew jobs in Astoria


Astoria, OR At the heart of historic Astoria, Oregon, a new future is growing. Fort George Brewery is expanding and now occupies and enlivens an entire city block. This growth is due in part to funding from the Oregon Lottery. Business Oregon, the state economic development agency, assisted the company with Lottery funds that helped build a new 8000 sq. ft. production facility, purchased the canning line and added cold storage that enabled them to ramp up their business. The result has been not just a darn tasty IPA, but the addition of jobs and a restored vibrancy and life to the community.

Along with serving up great microbrews, Fort George brewery also helps showcase local bands by providing a unique music venue for them to perform in. And did you know that Portland’s own music sensation Sallie Ford & the Sound Outside (who recently debuted on the David Letterman Show and is on European tour this winter) worked with the Lottery and performed in our latest TV commercial promoting how Lottery dollars help support the brewery.
