The Oregon Lottery® offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug coverage for employees and family members. It also includes mandatory $25,000 basic life insurance coverage for you. Monthly premiums are paid by the Lottery for employees and family members for full-time employees. Part-time employees receive partial payment of the monthly group plan premiums.

Medical Benefits
Available for employee, spouse, partner, children, and stepchildren. Full-time medical plan options include; Kaiser Permanente HMO, Kaiser Added Choice POS, Regence BCBSO PPO, and Providence Choice. Part-time and Retiree plan options are available through Kaiser, Kaiser Added Choice POS, Providence Choice, and Regence BCBSO PPO.
Dental Benefits
Available for employee, spouse, partner, children, and stepchildren. Full-time dental plan options include; Oregon Dental Service (Preferred and Traditional), Kaiser Permanente, and Willamette Dental Group. Part-time and Retiree plan options are available through Kaiser Permanente and Oregon Dental Service.
Flexible Spending Accounts
The Flexible Spending Accounts allows an employee to elect a monthly pre-tax dollar amount ($5,000/yr) to use for eligible health care costs and dependent daycare costs.
PERSONAL AND FAMILY SECURITY
The life and accident insurance plans provide employees and families with additional coverage at group rates.
Group Life Insurance
Employees receive a Basic life insurance benefit of $25,000. This is an employer paid benefit.
Dependent life insurance benefit for each eligible spouse/domestic partner and
eligible child is $5,000. Evidence of insurability is not required for this coverage. Rate is $1.29 per month.
Employees may apply for Optional Life Insurance for yourself and your spouse/domestic partner:
- For you – Any multiple of $20,000, up to $600,000.
- For your spouse/domestic partner – Any multiple of $20,000, up to $400,000.
Newly hired employees have a guarantee issue amount of $40,000, if application is made within 60 days of hire date.
Spouse/domestic partner of newly hired employees have a guarantee issue amount of $20,000, if application is made within 60 days of hire date.
Evidence of insurability is required for additional amounts above the guarantee issue amount along with approval from Standard Insurance Company. Rates vary by age and coverage amount.
Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance is available for employees, spouse/domestic partner, and children. Employees may purchase any multiple of $50,000, up to $500,000. Rates vary by coverage amount and who is covered.
Disability Insurance
Short Term Disability insurance is payable at 60% of your gross income and is available for employees when disabled up to 90 days for off-the-job injuries, illness, or pregnancy. Premiums are based on monthly gross income.
Long Term Disability insurance is payable at 60% or 66 2/3% of your gross income and is available for employees when disabled after the 90-day elimination period or 180-day elimination period. Premiums are based on monthly gross income.
Long Term Care Insurance is available for employees and extended family members and pays benefits when you require substantial assistance with two out of six activities of daily living. You can choose from 4 plan options and benefit duration periods of 3 year, 6 year, or unlimited. A medical history statement is required along with approval from UnumProvident.

Retirement Plans
Employees hired before August 29, 2003 partake in the benefits of the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS). Employees hired after August 29, 2003 partake in the benefits of the Oregon Public Service Retirement Plan (OPSRP) Pension Program. The Lottery contributes 6% of your gross income after you worked six full calendar months. Employees are eligible to participate at any time in the Oregon Savings Growth Plan’s 457 deferred compensation plan that allows voluntary contributions from $25 up to $16,500 maximum per year on a pretax basis. WORK/LIFE BALANCE
A balance between work and life is an integral part of the Lottery. We offer programs to help employees balance professional and personal time.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Cascade Centers, Inc. provides 3 free confidential sessions with a counselor to help resolve issues such as family problems, substance abuse, adjusting to change or stress. Other services include; free legal and financial advice, savings on home ownership, child and elder care resources, identity theft recovery, crisis counseling and concierge services.

Vacation Leave
Full-time employees receive the following vacation leave:

Sick Leave
Full-time employees receive 8 hours of sick leave per month.
Personal Business Leave
Full-time employees annually receive 24 hours of personal business leave. Personal leave is granted July 1 through June 30 of each year and is forfeited if not used.
Bereavement Leave
Full-time employees may request up to 24 hours of paid bereavement leave for the death of a family member.
Holidays
Nine holidays are recognized: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King’s Birthday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving and the Friday after, Christmas Day, and other holidays as designated by the Governor.
Leave of Absence
After six months of active full-time employment, unpaid leaves of absence are available under the Oregon Family Leave Act. After twelve months of active full-time employment, unpaid leaves of absence are available under the Federal Family Leave Act.

Parking
Free parking is available for all Lottery employees.
Savings Bonds
Employees may authorize the purchase of US Savings Bonds by payroll deduction. The bonds can be purchased: $100 bond for $50, $200 bond for $100, $500 bond for $250, and $1,000 bond for $500.
Direct Deposit
Employees have the option to have monthly checks directly deposited in up to 4 fixed and one net savings or checking account.
Credit Unions
Employees can join The Oregon Employees Credit Union and First Tech Credit Union.
Wellness Resources
PEBB offers programs that focus on preventative care, healthy living, high-quality care, employee satisfaction and consumer education.
